🎬 Welcome to JuniorStage at StageCraft Studio

A Deeper Dive Into Acting, Storytelling, and Stage Confidence

JuniorStage is a performance-based theatre program at StageCraft Studio, created for students who are ready to go beyond the basics. Ideal for upper elementary students (typically 4th–6th grade) who have had a taste of theatre and are eager to grow their skills, JuniorStage bridges the gap between our foundational KidStage classes and our advanced TeenStage program.

If your child is ready to explore character development, storytelling, and performance technique in a more focused setting—JuniorStage is their next step.

🎭 What Makes JuniorStage Different?

While KidStage introduces students to theatre fundamentals and creative play, JuniorStage dives deeper into the art of performance. Students will still have fun—but they’ll also be challenged with more intentional exercises designed to stretch their abilities and build confidence.

In JuniorStage, students will:

  • Explore character development techniques

  • Learn how to analyze and bring scenes to life

  • Deepen their understanding of stage presence and movement

  • Strengthen vocal delivery and emotional connection

  • Collaborate on ensemble scenes and individual roles

  • Work toward a mainstage performance that showcases their growth

🧠 Who Is JuniorStage For?

JuniorStage is best suited for students who:

  • Have participated in KidStage or other beginner theatre programs

  • Are in 4th to 6th grade and ready for more structure and focus (based on readiness, not age or grade level)

  • Enjoy storytelling, acting, and character work

  • Are looking to challenge themselves while still having fun

No audition or previous experience is required—just a willingness to learn and an excitement to perform!

🎭 The Rehearsal Process

JuniorStage runs in Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions, culminating in a fully-staged production on our main stage. Students rehearse once a week in 90-minute sessions and work closely with their instructors on:

  • Blocking and movement

  • Character arc and objectives

  • Ensemble building

  • Voice, diction, and projection

  • Song interpretation (for musical productions)

Each student is cast in a role, and every part is treated with importance—because every role is an opportunity to grow.
